THE COMPANY: Our client is one of the largest trade associations, offering an exciting opportunity for a Membership Manager to take on a varied and dynamic role. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing membership operations while building strong relationships with key accounts. With a focus on engagement, retention, and delivering real value, this role provides the chance to work across different functions, ensuring members maximise the benefits of industry-leading events, services, and products.

THE ROLE:
  • Membership Operations & CRM Management: Oversee renewals, applications, resignations, and forfeitures, ensuring timely processing within the SMMT membership CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Member Engagement & Retention: Collaborate with colleagues to develop tools that enhance engagement, satisfaction, and retention while fostering strong relationships with members.
  • Account Management & Growth: Manage member relationships through meetings, presentations, and communications, driving membership growth and uptake of paid services.
  • Events & Networking: Support member engagement through regional networking events, initiatives, and participation in industry committees, projects, and conferences.
  • Business Development & Strategy: Work closely with the Member Services and Business Development teams to improve membership offerings and support recruitment activities.
THE PERSON:
  • Extensive experience in senior membership roles, CRM systems, and managing large corporate accounts.
  • Proven ability to sell and promote membership packages, build strong relationships, and engage confidently with senior executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including public speaking, alongside a collaborative and approachable mindset.
  • Proficient in IT office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with confidence in AI-driven solutions, strong numerical skills, and attention to detail.
  • A creative and innovative thinker who thrives under pressure, meets targets, and contributes to team success with diplomacy, multitasking, and flexibility.
