THE ROLE:
As the Facilities Administrator, your role will be pivotal in managing records, coordinating maintenance requests, and handling communications to ensure the seamless operation of the school’s estate. This full-time position requires a proactive and organised individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign tasks to the housekeeper
- Schedule event setups and clear downs
- Manage school minibus bookings and driver training
- Raise purchase orders and manage housekeeping stock
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and vendor work
- Coordinate fire drills and emergency preparedness
- Act as the first point of contact for emergency situations
- Manage relationships with external contractors
- Schedule estate compliance inspections and maintain records
- Assist with general administrative tasks and procure goods/services
- Chair weekly operational meetings and record minutes
- Manage security and visitor admissions
THE PERSON:
- Proven experience in a busy office environment
- Strong foundation in English and Maths (minimum GCSE level)
- Excellent organisation, time management, and IT skills
- Ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, and adapt to changing demands
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, friendly, and helpful demeanour
- Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential
